All About Tubeless

If there's one upgrade that's the best bang for your buck, it is tubeless.  "Tubelessing" your bike is the act of removing the tubes from your tires and preparing the rims and tires to run without tubes, but with sealant to help with punctures.  It lightens the entire bike, rides better, and prevents flats from punctures.  While very tubeless has been common in mountain bikes for what seems like forever, it's just now catching on in road and cyclocross.

Tubeless can be done at home with the right parts, an air compressor, and a little time.  You just need the following items:

  • Tubeless ready wheels and tires
  • Tubeless Valves with a removable core
  • Tubeless Tape (that matches your rim width)
  • Tubeless Sealant

There's no shortage of tubeless options on the market but we carry the best two; Hold Fast and Stan's NoTubes
